Logistics, one of most influential new subjects nowadays, concerns about the dynamic flow process of goods and suggests the internal relationship between the logistics activities. It shows up the logistics system in the economic activity from the originally dormant state and has now become a special study area and scientific category. Logistics, a integrated subject which combines the science of management and engineering, evaluates the efficiency of the logistics system by applying the scientific ways of systematic engineering.
This course is based on the fundamental concepts and theories of logistics. It gives an introduction to logistics, its theory system and history of development, and then introduces the concepts, methods and technology of every aspect of logistics: packing, transportation, storage, distribution processing, handing/carrying, loading and unloading, logistics information. This course also introduces the concepts, characteristics, theories, methods and techs of the logistics system in different areas such as enterprise logistics, international logistics and logistics management. In the end it gives an introduction to the analytic methods of the logistics system and the development of modern logistics.
