Data analysis techniques
Syllabus:

In the era of big data, data has become an important asset of enterprises. Reasonable and effective analysis of the data could create great wealth for the enterprise; so data is also considered to be the goldmine in the new era. Then, data analysis techniques are tools which mining wealth from the goldmine. The curriculum of Data Analysis Techniques focuses mainly on the principles and methods about the collection, integration, analysis and application of industrial big data. Based on some real cases of the industrial enterprises, the course introduces that, in the processes of industrial productions and business operations, how to carry out the data collection, data analysis and pre-processing, how to obtain the specific patterns or implicit associations and correlations among features from the mass of data, and how to use the data analysis results to support the decision-making during the production and operation. At the same time, it will introduce some existing data analysis tools, and the approaches for developing a new one. The course is mainly explained in the form of case discussion. It provides abundant real cases and designed experiments, as well as some simple and easy to use practical tools, which helps students focus on the principles and methodologies of data analysis of the industrial big data, and understand how to exploit proper data analysis techniques and tools to solve practical industrial problems. Meanwhile, students can master the ability of developing and applying data analysis tools, and understand them thoroughly from the aspects of ideology, technique principle and applications. Their comprehensive and creative ability will be improved. They will realize the importance of industrial big data and the value and charm of data analysis.
