This course systematically introduces the methods, procedures and ideas of distribution center planning from the function positioning and planning objectives to the design of storage system, sorting system and handling system, from the buildings and ancillary facilities to the information system construction. It is a key course to improve the ability of logistics system designing for students comprehensively.
This course focuses on the integration of theory and practice, and a detailed description of the planning ideas and methods in a distribution center is provided for each chapter through some typical cases.
After the course, students can maser the skills of demand analysis, system capacity planning, system layout, logistics equipment selection and information system planning of a distribution center, so that they will obtain system analysis and planning capability for a distribution center.
