Foundation of Mechanical Engineering
Syllabus:

This course is a specialized elective course for the majors of mechanical engineering and vehicle engineering. It mainly introduces the basic concept and basic theory of vibration in linear discrete systems, and the application of vibration theory of discrete system in mechanical and structural dynamic design. This course covers the following contents: natural frequency, damping ratio, free vibration response, dynamic stress calculation and forced vibration response in single degree of freedom system; natural frequency, main vibration mode, free vibration characteristic, forced vibration characteristic and dynamic vibration absorption principle of two degree of freedom system. The objective of this course is to make students master the basic concepts, basic theory and basic mechanical vibration method to solve mechanical and structural vibration problems, so that they will have the abilities of analyzing and solving complex engineering problems using the vibration knowledge. This course can be engaged in the analysis of dynamic performance of mechanical equipment, vibration suppression in the running process of equipment, the extended equipment life.
