This course is a required specialized core course for students majoring in Mechanical engineering in colleges and universities. Through the study of the course, students shall be able to have access to the basic process knowledge, such as the forming methods, Parts processing technology and structural machinabilities; Students shall also have the initial capacity of selecting the rough, knowing the parts processing methods and analysing process; Besides, the course lay the necessary foundation to learn other related courses in mechanical design and manufacture.
With the research-based teaching as the starting point, the course insist on knowledge , methods, ideas, capacity and quality as training ideas. As for the teaching content, we adhere to the combination of the theory and practice of teaching, extruding engineering and technical characteristics, developing the quality of engineering students and training students in engineering practice. As for the teaching methods, we insist on the combination of learning curricular and extracurricular, the combination of the dominant position of students and the leading role of teachers, training students the skills of independent learning and problem-solving, training students in creative thinking, stimulating student's interest in learning, and fostering students self-learning abilities. As for the assessment, we use a wide range of evaluation tools, giving more attention on performance, process experience and creative thinking.
