The course of Mechanical Design is a basic technology course that nurtures students’ talent of mechanical design , and also is an important first course that cultivates Mechanical Designer , which provides the basic training to all kinds of specialities students whose major subject is mechanics , and the basic training includes the basic knowledge , theory and method of Mechanical Design . The course mainly introduces some usual basic theory that include the basic knowledge of calculating the fatigued strength of Machine Elements and Tribology which is teached to students combined with the concrete Machine Elements , and the general method of designing and calculating in a range of the usual parameter of common Machine Elements like the common Elements in general machine , such as belt transmission , train transmission , gear transmission , worm transmission , shaft , sliding bearing , rolling bearing , bolt , spring and so on .
