Ergonomics is concerned with the relationship of human-machine-environment and their optimization match based on the basic theory of ergonomics and vehicle design knowledge. It focuses on the requirement of targeted customers, pursuing the high efficiency, comfort, health and safety of people considering their needs, abilities and limitations. It is composed of all key content of ergonomics: anthropometric and biomechanics, driver’s field of vision, sitting space layout design, display and operating device.
Facing on the trend of future intelligent interconnected vehicle, some aspects related with the human factors will be investigated, such as: How should HMI be designed to support transitions between automated and manual control? How can the automation understand the driver’s state and intentions? What are the effects of HAD on accident risk and transport efficiency? Through a multidisciplinary combination of human cognitive characteristic and engineering domains, the better intelligent transport will be realized.
