This is a fundamental course that serves as an introduction to the basic idea and design method of animation art. The main contents include: the history of animation, major types of animation, the basic process of animation design, concept development, principles of animation, stop-motion animation, 2D animation drawing. This course makes students to master the basic theory of animation art design, basic skills and methods of animation design, to understand the art characteristics, technical elements, cultural connotation, methods of creation and creative form, to improve students’ analysis ability of the different types of animation; to improve students’ capacity of animation production, and to lay the foundation for digital media design.
