The content of this course involves forging, extrusion, drawing, rolling and other plastic processes. It aims to let students understand the typical plastic processing technology, study the microscopic mechanism of plastic deformation, the relationship between stress and strain, constitutive relation of plastic materials, plastic and yielding conditions of metals, et al. In order to establish the ability for solving the plastic forming problems on both theory and engineering aspects, the students are also required to master the ability of carrying out plastic experiment and solving the classical plasticity problem. This course is suitable for both graduate and undergraduate students on the major of Mechanical, Pressure Processing and related subjects.
