Rang-Lin Fan received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Tsinghua University, Beijing in 2005. He is now an Associate Professor at the Department of Vehicle Engineering of the School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Science and Technology Beijing. His research interests include vehicle system dynamics, active control of NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) and new energy and energy recovery, with emphasis on their applications to vehicular systems. His current research focuses include active NVH control of newly electrified vehicles and conventional fuel vehicles.
In the last 10 years, he was involved in the active and semi-active control powerplant mounts and mounting systems for newly electrified vehicles and conventional fuel vehicles. He completed more than 20 research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology special project for innovative methods, and university-enterprise cooperation projects.
He has served as the Chief Investigator or co-CI of more than 40 research projects. He has 40 technical publications, including 35 in referred journals and transactions, 3 invention patents and 3 software copyrights.
