Yanhua Shen received her Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Science & Technology, Beijing in 2005. Shen is now associate professor at the College of Mechanical Engineering, USTB. Her research interests include heavy vehicle dynamics and adaptive control, with emphasis on their applications to the off-road vehicle and construction machinery. Her current research focuses include control of off-road distributed drive vehicle, and lightweight structure design, time-dependent reliability analysis.

In the recent years, she was involved in the design and research of mining truck, including AC electric mining truck, articulated off-road truck, multi-axle vehicle. She has served as the PI or co-PI of about 20 research projects, which include National Key R&D Project, NSFC Project, School enterprise Project, etc. She has published more than 40 technical papers and written two books as co-author.
