Based on the development of the mechanical discipline, wang wenrui mainly carry out research on the safety behavior and evaluation of mechanical material structure service. He systematically elaborate the damage evolution mechanism between the microstructure of the material/structure and the macroscopic dynamic response law. Based on the thermoelastic plastic theory, the thermomechanical coupling mechanism of the material is studied, which formed a set of full-chain online detection technology with independent intellectual property rights, including high-temperature strain sensor development, multi-parameter calibration, online in-situ monitoring/detection, and compensation. He has undertaken more than 50 scientific research projects such as national major instrument special projects, joint fund of the Ministry of Education, aviation science fund, transportation industry key laboratory fund, and factory-enterprise cooperation.

He won many honorary titles, such as  the "Young Talent Program" of Beijing colleges and universities and the tenth batch of "exempt inspection classroom", Research demonstration model courses (Microcomputer Principles and Applications B), "Excellent Communist Party Member", "Trade Union Activists", Machinery The engineering school "Young Teachers Basic Skills Competition Second Prize", "Excellent Class Teacher". etc.
