Ben GUAN received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB), Beijing in 2013. He is now an Associate Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering in USTB. His research interests include the multi-physical fields numerical simulation, the material deformation and fracture behavior and the design and optimization of lightweight intelligent structure.

He has served as PI of more than 10 research projects, such as National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Beijing Municipal Natural Science Foundation and China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. In the past 5 years, he has published 8 SCI / EI articles in JMPT, Journal of mechanical engineering and other journals as the first or corresponding author. Seven invention patents were authorized and five of them were transferred and applied. He serves as a reviewer of JMPT, CJME, etc.
